Sunday Morning Vibes: Knitting with a Mix of Crochet

It’s already Sunday and the last day of our vacation!!!  Our week off went a bit fast for me but I loved every moment of it.

This morning we are sitting outside enjoying the cool breeze on our patio with a cup of coffee in our favorite mugs by Dust Bowl Pottery (yes, we are Potter fans).  This past week off has been very relaxing and restful, something both of us desperately needed. We really didn’t do too much, which was the best part of our vacation.

I managed to get quite a bit of knitting in and made good progress on my second Flax Sweater. The sleeves have been separated and I’ve already knitted about 3” of the body.  I think this will be finished by the middle of this month, which makes me very happy.

Sorry about the photo - but you get the idea

While I love all aspects of knitting, sometimes when I knit too much my  left wrist and elbow give me fits.  When this happens, I take a little break an turn to crochet.  Yesterday I started the Quick Win Raglan by LeRoo Crochet.  For this project I am using my stash of Noro Akari in the color Ibusuki. This is the second time I’ve used the Akari and I really love it!!

I am loving the gradual change of colors and the pattern is crocheting up rather quickly and will be perfect for the cooler months here in Phoenix.  If you haven’t tried the Noro Akari, it’s a great yarn to consider, especially if you live in a warmer climate like I do.  The mix of 26% Silk, 21% Cotton, 15% Rayon, 14% Mohair, 12% Wool and 12% Nylon make the finished fabric light an airy, but yet warm.

I’m off to enjoy the rest of the day with my hubby and our sweet baby boy Cody, who is dying to go to the park this morning!

Until next time, be creative!
Tina
