Wednesday WIPs: Socks and A Hat

I think I must be ready for fall as I seem to have been bitten by a knitting bug and have gone on a cast on frenzy!

I am working on a pair of DK weight socks and have finished the first sock and plan to cast on the mate soon.  The pattern is Brigid, a free download by Renee Leverington of The Goddess Knits. I love  the cable design down the front and it is knitting up nicely in my Patons DK wool

This past weekend I casted on Feast, a design by Andrea Mowry using Lichen and Lace Rustic Sport.  I love this yarn and I think this hat is going to be awesome when finished! I am really enjoying this yarn and purchased two skeins from Lichen and Lace to make a pair of mitts.  I think yarn that is rustic looking, and feeling, is exceptional and for me echos what wool is all about.

I am still working on my Nurmilintu handspun shawl but haven’t made much progress as i’ve Had to many other cast on distractions.  I hope to dedicate time to it though this weekend and at least get the first lace repeat finished.

What’s on your needles, hook. Loom or wheel this week ?

Until next time, be creative!
