KAL Time!

I can't seem to resist a good KAL (knit along) , especially when it’s from one of my favorite designers and involves sweater knitting.  Carol Feller of Stolen Stitches is hosting a sweater KAL featuring her new design, Rusty Lines.

From the Stolen Stitches Website:   Each clue is released on the schedule set out below, with a new section of the pattern in each clue. Every clue is supported with video showing you how to work that section of the pattern.

Let the knitting do all the work to create visual interest in this sweater. Knit from the top down on the bias, the simple stitch pattern looks totally different by adding increases and decreases!
The sweater is designed to be worked with a good amount of positive ease but worn a little shorter, hitting just below the navel.
This sweater is designed to be somewhat cropped, hitting 1.5” / 4 cm below the navel. If you want to alter the length this is an estimate of the difference this would make to yarn amounts.

I am head over heels in love with this design, as well as Carol’s own yarn line Nua, a beautiful rustic looking worsted weight in a blend of 60% merino, 20% yak and 20% linen.  The colors available in this yarn are fabulous, especially a few colors that scream “fall”, and I am so ready for fall.  I think I may just have to order the kit for this KAL, as this sweater would be perfect for here in Arizona.

I also wanted to mention that the Woolly Thistle is also hosting their annual sweater KAL, which is on Ravelry but you can also follow along on Instagram.

Sweater weather is right around the corner and we’re getting ready to host our 2nd annual Sweater KAL! This knit along is really fun with designers offering discounts and prizes, great group camaraderie, and knitters all working on a sweater fit for Rhinebeck! (We’re hoping for a KAL FO photo at RB!!). We already have some wonderful designers signing on so check out our Rav group, let us know you’re on board and show the awesome designers some love! See you there!!! #twtsweaterkal2019#thewoollythistle

Do you enjoy KALs ?

Until next time, be creative!
