Friday Finished Objects .... All Sewing !

I have been inspired to sew this week using the ever popular Shirt No.1 by Sonja Philip of 100 Acts of Sewing to create three unique tops for summer.  All my fabric was purchased from Joann Fabrics and my tops were so much fun to make!

Cotton Crinkle 48” - Spring Garden
This summery fabric was a steel and cost a total of $10.40 for this top.  It was slightly too large in the front so I folded about an 1/2” to create a front seam.  I am planning to add buttons down the front for fun!

Cotton Fabric 42” - Navy, Red & White Stripe
This top end up costing me $13 ... you can’t buy a top this cheap unless it’s on clearance. I’m very excited that my stripes match up on the shoulders and on the sides.

Cotton Fabric 52” -  Blue Tie Dye with Embroidered Scalloped Edge

This top I’m in at $30.00 but I couldn’t help myself from buying this fabric.  It’s so pretty with the scalloped edge and I made it longer, tunic length, to wear with leggings.

I also splurged and bought labels to sew into my tops. They are perfect and created on 100% organic cotton tape. I got these labels from Mommie Made It.

Aren’t these labels super cute!
I have about eight more tops to make and plan to branch out and try new patterns. I really like Ethel by Style Arc, Ryan by Whitney Deal and the Lou Box Top by Sew DIY. I also bought about 10 Simplicity patterns last weekend as they were on sale for $1.99 each.  Now to match patterns with fabric... that will be loads of fun!

What did you get finished this week ?

Until next time, be creative!
