Finished Skeins and a New Spin!

I was very productive yesterday and I am so excited to share that I finished my Owls in Cheviot and my Passionate Kisses in Merino.

This was my first time spinning Cheviot and it definitely won’t be my last. I ended up with 160 yards of worsted weight in 3-ply. I decided to chain ply for this project and love how it turned out.  I can’t wait to spin my other braids of fiber that I purchased from Dedri’s shop, Quillin Fiberarts.

The colors reminds me of denim, jeans and boots!

My merino in the color Passionate Kisses was a very smooth fiber to spin.  While I didn’t end up with the yardage I was aiming for, I am quite happy with the end result.  My finished skein is 103 yard of DK to light worsted in 3-ply.  I also chained plied this project, which is probably the main reason for my lack of yardage. Nevertheless the less, I am in love with my finished skein.

Isn't this red gorgeous!

I have also started spinning for the #spin15aday March spin along and I’m loving the color! The one thing I love about Abundant Earth Fiber's Signature Blend is the rustic nature of their wool.  For this spin, I am aiming for 100 yards of 3-ply.

I am hopeful that March will be a great month of spinning and that I will be able to spin up all my Abundant Fiber Signature Blend as part of my "stash down" spinning.

Until next time ... be creative !
